The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

Blue Ox products are best in class. Went with the Apollo to tow my F250, but the LOA between coach, dinghy and Blue Ox keeps me out of some states, so I have been towing a Grand Cherokee with no problems at all. Wouldn't consider any other tow bar.

I have been a user of Blue Ox for decades. I had an aluminum version of their bar. That was insufficient to tow my Ford Maverick. I decided to go with the heavier-than-needed Apollo. I am glad I did. I like the heft and sturdy nature of the bar.
This thing is a beast! We are replacing our Blue Ox Avail tow bar that we have used for several years with our Jeep Grand Cherokee. No complaints there. We recently purchased a RAM 1500 and wanted to upgrade the tow bar to one with a higher rating for safety. Lifting the box I could feel the difference. It should definitely do the job. For shipping I would like to see another box over the Blue Ox box because it was close to busting out. It is a heavy item and could use another layer of protection.
